"I Felt That There Was No Hope For Me."

Hi Captain Tom,

Just wanted to send you a quick note to say a huge thank you for your amazing course.  I flew to New York on Monday and arrived home last night.  It was such an enjoyable experience to not be in constant panic for the entire duration of the flight.  My whole vacation took on a more relaxed tone because I wasn't panicking about getting on the plane for the flight home.  I had my doubts because after trying many different tactics to get over my fear I felt that there was no hope for me.  I am so so so grateful to you.  You provide a service that works and you do it well.

Thank you, thank you, thank you,

"Fun And A Breeze."

Tom,

Just a thank you note, First, this has been the first time since I was in the military,( Last week's flights to Atlanta and Arkansas from Boston to my son's wedding) that flying was fun and a breeze. The Canadian 700 regional was a great jet and a lot of fun. Even though small, I liked it because of the close to the action feel and that the flight seemed like it was on your personal jet. It is actually more exciting in steep turns and takeoffs. The pilots were great. The big planes were great too, just a different feeling, not so personal. I thanked the captain and co pilot when walking off in Boston at the end of the toughest flight, and he said with a big smile," Thanks. Sometimes we get lucky," I believe that they appreciate the thanks.

As you know there were incredibly bad storms in the south and we had to fly thru the oncoming weather front and back over it coming back thru North Carolina. Turbulence till cruising altitude and coming down to landing. Actually predicted, ( looking out the window at the cloud types), to my wife that the kind of clouds would be bumpy due to winds that created them.( about 2 min ahead of the pilot's announcement) and on takeoff as well. Why so relaxed. I finally said ,"the heck with this worry, the pilots are pros, I loved flying on helicopters in the Marines in my early 20's and life is too short to worry. Where did this come from? The talks with you on actual flying, operations of planes, pilots, ground control and weather, a true understanding of what is going on. Also talking with the pilots about things before or after the flights. Relaxation exercises from your quick prep DVD's, actual stats on flying. Finally your "2 guys in the room with the box"' ( a great one). All of this actually triggered all at once a "what have I been doing attitude"?

Not saying that the bug might not bite again but My wife couldn't get me away from the window, watching everything work during various parts of the flight, wings, flaps, etc and the understanding how the entire operation among all the players worked even in the face of bad weather and terrible reports from the weather channel, showing that we would be flying over, or around these fronts and heavy winds. Again, can't thank you enough please keep up the great work. Also your  accessibility by phone is great and professional, creating a one on one personalized operation, like speaking with a long time friend, you have a great attitude and a relaxing voice.
